International Service Projects


The following Rotary International Projects have been supported in part by our Rotary Club of Kernersville:

Faisalabad, Pakistan –  Our ‘Twin Club’  – The Rotary Clubs of Faisalabad, Pakistan and Kernersville, NC, USA with the aid of co sponsoring clubs from District 7690 (Walnut Cove, Willow Creek, Greensboro Airport and Yadkinville) sponsored a Matching Grant to expand and improve the study environment and study aids for the female students at M.C. Girls Primary School, X Block, Madina Town, Faisalabad, Pakistan.

Mexico Water Project – Led by the Rotary WASRAG (Water & Sanitation Rotarian Action Group) and Larry Aiken. It’s a water purification project between District 7690 (ours), and District 4170 in Mexico City. The project also will receive funding from the Mexican water authority.

Mexico Hospital Building Project – Sponsored Pete Kunkle to go to Mexico and assisted in building of a hospital.

Ambassadorial Scholar – Sponsored Tara Wall, Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar to Australia.




Rotary 7690 Group Study Exchange (GSE) – Led by our own Pam Ray, this group toured Taiwan in a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity.




Honduras Water project – This water project built wells in 2 villages. Funding support from Fort McMurray Rotary Club (Alberta, Canada), District 7750, Olanchito Rotary Club (Honduras) 2011-2012

South Africa – Building Ceramic Water Filter Factory.  Funding support from Harrisburg, VA Rotary Club, District 7570 – 2012-2013, $37,621.



South Arica

Lebanon – Securing Clean Drinking Water in 19 Public Schools.  Funding from Baabda Rotary Club (Lebanon), Beirut Center Rotary Club (Lebanon), Beirut Cadmoco Rotary Club (Lebanon), District 2452, Yadkinville Rotary Club and Walnut Cove Rotary Club. 2013-2014, $43,550,




Ancerville, France – Sponsored by our club, Doc Long (WWII Veteran) participated and funded a WWII memorial in Ancerville, France. This was dedicated to the many soldiers from the 79th Infantry Division who landed in Normandy and helped end the war.
