Major Service Projects

  • Business Partner at Cash Elementary School – Provides financial assistance as as tutoring assistance through our ‘Study Buddy’ program.
  • College Scholarships – Awards four (4) $2000 scholarships each year – two (2) each at both East Forsyth and Glenn High Schools.
  • Forsyth Tech Scholarships Awards two (2) $4000 scholarships each year – two (2) each at East Forsyth and Glenn – for students to obtain an Associates Degree at Forsyth Tech.
  • Scholastic Banquet Hosts and annual Scholastic Banquet to recognize the top ten (10) Seniors and top ten (10) Juniors at both East Forsyth and Glenn as well as their parents.
  • Rotary Youth Leadership Camp – Sponsors two (2) students each year to a Youth Leadership Camp conducted by the Rotary Club of Greensboro and the Center for Creative Leadership.
  • Kernersville Little League – Sponsors a Little League team.
  • RYLA – Rotary Youth Leadership AcademySponsors a summer youth leadership training program for twenty (20) student leaders selected by the administration at East Forsyth and Glenn.
  • Interact ClubsSponsors Interact Clubs at both East Forsyth and Glenn.
  • International Service ProjectsConducts at least one (1) international service project each year with a contribution of $2000 or more.

  • Senior Citizens Gift Program – Provides gifts to approximately seventy-five (75) nursing home residents in Kernersville each year at Christmas and Easter.
  • Shadow DaySponsors an annual program that allows high school students to ‘shadow’ a professional business person in their daily activities.
  • Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina – Makes an annual contribution to support the Rotary Cottage at the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina.
  • BrightBeginnings.shtmlRotary – YMCA ‘Bright Beginnings’ ProjectPartners with the Kernersville YMCA to buy back to school supplies for deserving students in Kernersville area elementary schools.
  • Kernersville FoundationRotary Club founded the Kernersville Foundation in 1999 and continues to contribute $5000 annually to the foundation to benefit various non-profit agencies that serve the Kernersville Community.
  • Rotary Foundation – Club contributes $2500 each year to the Rotary foundation and club members contribute another $15,000+ annually to support the Foundation’s programs.
  • Kernersville Farmers MarketJoint project with the Town of Kernersville. Rotary Club donated materials for construction of the Farmers Market and provides volunteer Market Coordinators to manage the market.
