PRESIDENT's
COLUMN
Lead the Way! Roy
Collette, with his strong motivational leadership and passion for the
haunted house, gave untold hours toward the conception and execution of
this production. Kim King's leadership through the KDPDC ensured that
the building was blessed for use by the inspections team and she made
sure that we had plenty of publicity. Night after night, Roy, his family,
fellow Rotarians and other volunteers built the house, staffed the house
and spooked the community. It was truly a work of love and absolutely
FUN for all who participated! The joint venture with KDPDC generated enough
revenue for us to pay for a scholarship and a little extra to boot! Jake Cashion is the Foundation chair for our club. He and Brooke, along with Van and Linda, Tom and me, attended the Foundation dinner at High Point Country Club last Thursday night. We had a speaker from Rotary International who showed us another way our Foundation contributions are put to use. Inspiring! Jake will be unveiling a plan to raise some money for the Foundation and have a great big time doing it! Many clubs were recognized for their achievements at the Foundation dinner, and our own past President Van was recognized for his personal contributions to the Foundation. (continued
