Rotary has declared June "Friendship and Vocational Fellowship Month". As one spends time getting to know Rotary and its meaning and purpose in the world it becomes obvious that one of its enormously important values is to be able to share common interests and goals with people all around the world.
Our club's participation in international projects has brought connections to people that one would not normally imagine possible. Rotary's emphasis on attendance and the opportunity to meet this requirement by "making up" at Rotary meetings in over 32,000 clubs world wide gives unparalleled opportunity for developing friendships worldwide. If one is a banker it is valuable to meet and compare notes with a fellow banker at a club meeting in London - or Charlotte or anywhere.
No matter your vocation, the value of having the Rotary connection with your peers worldwide is beyond measure. Today the world is smaller than ever. It will get smaller. We are all very close neighbors. Rotary Friendship opportunities and Vocational Fellowship opportunities are ours to do with what we will.
