As we begin the second half of 2008, please take a few moments and reflect on the meaning of Independence Day. We tout “Service Above Self” and we understand what it means.
Think about, reflect on, the wonderful liberties that we enjoy and how these liberties were gained….We are able to take advantage of living in a free society, because so many before us, practiced “Service Above Self” before the term was ever associated with Rotary.
Please, lets never forget the many men and women before us and the men and women stationed today, in our great country and all over the world, who put themselves on the line and their lives on hold so that we can be free to do, virtually anything that we want….That’s Service Above Self!
Please keep the men and women who serve in our armed services in your prayers and gratitude in your hearts…...
