PRESIDENT's
COLUMN
It is just 3 months until Barbara steps down and I take over as President.
During the 2007-08 Rotary year, we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary
as a club. On November 24, 1987 The Rotary Club of Kernersville was chartered
with 22 members.
This
club has had a very successful first 20 years. During that time, the club
has raised over $500,000 through its service projects and other fund-raising
activities. That money has gone to help residents at the local nursing
homes, the students at Cash Elementary School, for scholarships for students
at East Forsyth and Glenn High Schools and many other projects all around
the world. Throughout our first 20 years this club has shared a lot with
the world. It has shared its talents, it's time and it's money to help
make the world a little better.
The
Rotary International 2007-08 theme is "Rotary Shares". I know
that this club will continue to share throughout the coming year and have
another outstanding year.
I
am looking forward the next year and serving as the President of The Rotary
Club of Kernersville and leading this club in what will be another successful
year as "Rotary Shares".
Yours
in Rotary,
Brian Stewart
