PRESIDENT's COLUMN

We have had a high level of club activity recently with international projects. To work here in Kernersville for children in far-off places sometimes seems to take away from efforts here in our own neighborhoods. Would it not be better to help our own neighborhood kids? What about foreign aid from our government? Would it better serve our interests to spend all that money here? These questions have been debated by very sincere and passionate, intelligent people as long as I have been aware. The answers are always good both pro and con. What is the best way to invest our resources? Each of us as individuals has to examine the arguments and come to his or her own conclusions. What we do in Rotary seems the best solution. Each Rotarian can take a few minutes of time to collect a few pencils for school children in Pakistan or take a few minutes of time each week to be a study buddy for a child at Cash --- or do both. It remains his or her choice - the decision from his or her own heart. It makes one proud to be a part of such an organization doesn't it?

Thanks to all of you Kernersville Rotarians who make Rotary the best service organization in the world.
